1. Makes listening to music an event

In this day and age when music is so readily available to listen to online, whether through Youtube, iTunes, Spotify, Pandora, or whatever other services you use, it becomes so normal in your daily routine, you don’t really think much about it. I listen to Spotify ALL DAY at work, 5 days a week. It’s just noise in the background for me. Sure, there are times when I can get into a song and start drumming on the table, but even then it’s just to break up the monotony of sitting in a beige cube staring at a computer screen all day. When I get home though, I can throw on an album, which requires me to pick an album, remove it from the sleeve, put it on my turntable, place the needle, and turn on my receiver and turntable. I went through a process to listen to music, not just hit a button. It makes me more selective in what I listen to and I appreciate it that much more. Even if its music that I listen to on Spotify, like The Black Keys or Queens of the Stone Age, I still get so much more joy out of listening to an album on vinyl.
